Data Foundry’s Texas 1 data center is located at 4100 Smith School Rd, Austin, TX 78744. The data center is a purpose built facility located at 40 acre data ranch development, and is 10 minutes away from Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Ten inch thick pre-cast walls and a concrete roof system designed to withstand 215 miles per hour winds are structural features. The data center provides amenities like secure parking for customers and visitors, secure loading dock with semi-trailer access, and dedicated staging and burn-in room.
Data center provides half and full lockable cabinets, caged space starting at 3 cabinets, and dedicated private suites starting from 2,500 square feet. This 250,000 square feet facility provides 110,000 square feet of raised floor and 20,000 square feet dedicated worksite recovery space. The facility is regularly audited in accordance with SSAE 16 SOC I Type II requirements, and is HIPAA compliant. The external security measures taken by Data Foundry includes 24x7x365 manned security at gated entry and security cameras with digital video recording and storage. The internal security is provided by escorted access and video surveillance system with DVR recording on every door opening. Biometric access control and man traps at all external doors prevent unauthorized access. The data center uses an extensive set of fire detection and suppression system that includes High Sensitivity Smoke Detection (HSSD) sensors, FE36 handheld extinguishers, FM 200 building wide system, and Dual interlock pre action dry pipe sprinkler system at data center.
Multiple levels of redundancy are built into every level of Texas 1 power infrastructure. The redundant power feeds are supplied by separate 400 MW substations, and each substation is powered by independent power plants on the ERCOT electric grid. For added reliability, Data Foundry built a dedicated, end-to-end, concrete reinforced underground feed. The immediate power failure is protected by multiple 750 kVA PowerWare 9395 UPS system in N+1 and 2N configurations. The emergency power is provided by multiple 2.5 MW Caterpillar diesel generators in N+1 configuration with 50,000 gallons of fuel storage onsite. The data center has 300 kVA single input PDUs and 300 kVA dual input PDUs. The data center is ideal for high performance computing with power density of 50 kW per cabinet. The data center has zone high resistance grounding and lightning protection system installed. The cooling and humidity in the data center is controlled by 24,000 cfm chilled water CRAH units in N+3 configuration, and 550 tons VFD York chillers with fast restart in N+1 redundancy.
Houston data center is a carrier neutral facility offering connectivity to 17+ carriers and service providers. Carriers are provided access to underground, concrete-encased duct banks that enter the Data Ranch campus via diverse paths on the property. All telecom is delivered to separate carrier rooms inside the Texas 1 data center. 24 x 7 x 365 NOC staff provides the helpdesk and support services, and remote hands services.
