Continuum Data Centers’ West Chicago data center (CDC 603) is located at 603 Discovery Drive, West Chicago, IL 60185. The data center is a purpose built single story building situated on approximately 20 acres. The facility is 24″ thick reinforced concrete wall construction able to withstand winds in excess of 100 MPH. The data center is strategically distant from urban area, and is located outside of floodplains and 0.0g earthquake zone. The data center is a Tier III infrastructure facility offering redundant and reliable infrastructure.

The data center offers flexible colocation options including half cabinet, one third cabinet, full cabinet, customized cage space, and private suites. The data center provides 80,000 square feet of total enclosed space that includes raised floor space for subfloor cable management and efficient airflow. The data center is a SSAE 16 SOC I type II and OIXA certified facility, and offers solutions meeting the rigorous compliance requirements of HIPAA and PCI DSS. The data center provides state of the art security measurements for the protection of infrastructure, including steel REX infrared interlocking doors, CCTV cameras monitoring interior and exterior of facility, biometric access, onsite staff, and level III bullet resistant mantraps. The facility uses dry pipe fire suppression system with VESDA control for any fire spark.

The West Chicago data center provides a reliable and fault tolerant N+1 power infrastructure. The power to facility is served through multiple utility grids with a combine potential power of 48 MW. The entire critical infrastructure is protected by N+1 UPS system that provide backup power with automatic transfer of load to standby diesel generators. The facility maintains 4 x 2.5 Caterpillar diesel generators in N+1 redundant configuration with fuel storage onsite for the prolonged utility outage with automatic transfer switch. The N+1 PDUs delivers diverse power in A/B redundant power feeds to each cabinet. The The cooling and humidity levels in the data center are effectively moderated through redundant STULZ CyberRow intelligent cooling units in N+1 redundancy. The facility uses hot aisle/cold aisle containment cabinet layout for effective and efficient cooling.

Continuum Data Centers’ 603 Discovery Drive data center is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity to multiple carriers and service providers. The data center has diverse fiber entrances with 4 x 4 inches fiber casings at each corner of facility, and has two diverse meet me rooms at front and back of the data center. The data center provides fully redundant, resilient, and fault tolerant network infrastructure to support high bandwidth. The facility also offers DDoS protection and mitigation. 24x7x365 NOC technical staff provides the support and monitoring services.
