Colocation America’s Los Angeles data center 3 is located at 600 W 7th St, Los Angeles, CA 90017 in the Digital Realty building; and is one of five data center facilities that are operated by Colocation America in Los Angeles. The building is of seismic zone 4 construction and is located outside of the 100 year floodplain.
The data center offers flexible colocation space options including 1U rack space, 2U rack space, 4U rack space, 10U quarter cabinet, 21U half cabinet, 42U full cabinet, customized cage space, private suites and build-to-suit space. The data center is a premier facility with a total of 500,000 square feet of space including 67,000 square feet floor plates. The data center is a certified SSAE 16 SOC II facility that is regularly audited for the rigorous audit requirements for the implementing IT controls, and it also offers solutions fully meeting the complex compliance requirements of HIPAA and PCI DSS. The data center provides excellent security measures featuring 24x7x365 security guards, monitoring through CCTV with recording of footage, card access control and biometric scanners. The data center is equipped with pre action dry pipe fire suppression system to meet any fire emergencies.
The Digital Realty Los Angeles data center is a reliable and fault tolerant power infrastructure with power to the facility fed by 3 independent feeds at 34.5 kV from LADWP. The data center is provisioned to provide 27 MW power that is expandable to 33 MW. The power to building is delivered by 8 primary 3,750 kVA transformers at 34.5 kV with capacity for two additional 3,750 kVA transformers at 34.5 kV. Immediate power failure is protected by redundant UPS system in N+1 configuration. Extended power outage is backed up by 8 x 1,500 kW and 3 x 2,000 kW building diesel generators with bulk fuel storage tanks in 2 x 40,000 gallons storage tank. The N+1 PDUs distribute diverse power in an A+B configuration to each cabinet in a failsafe design. Cooling and humidity levels in the data center are maintained by 4 x 1,000 tons cooling towers configured in N+1 redundant configuration. The data center has 24 hours of onsite water storage of 48,000 gallons.
