This Premier Elite facility is located in a 20 acres campus offering data center space, conference rooms, office space, parking area, and secures caged storage for customer use. The facility is elevated above 100 years flood plain, storm resistant to winds at 200 mph, and near to Eppley airfield, the Omaha airport authority (OMA). The data center is designed and equipped to meet the demands of enterprises, wholesale businesses, and government agencies.
Omaha data center is a Tier III infrastructure by design and construction certified by Uptime Institute. The data center offers half and full cabinets colocation, and private suite colocation space. The data center provides more than 10,000 square feet of raised floor space with floor load of 2,500 lbs. per tile. The data center is SSAE 16 SOC I Type II audited facility, and Energy Star certified. The data center manages stringent multi layered security control procedures including 24 x 7 x 365 security personnel, K12 rated facility barrier, building gated perimeter, closed circuit video monitoring and logging with backup tape storage. Biometric palm scan and Lenel encrypted smart card access control system allows the entry in the colocation area. The data center has a mantrap entry for the extra protection to access the resources of data center. Pre action dry pipe, double interlocked fire suppression system with VESDA smoke detectors is installed in data center for extinguishing any fire spark.
The data center has very reliable N+1 electrical design and distribution. The utility power to data center is fed by Omaha Public Power District Company supported by two discrete power substations, and distributed through a fully redundant ring design. Critical load capability up to 3 MW in a fully redundant, isolated 2N UPS configuration delivered through eight independent A and B 2,500 KVA buses. All UPSs are double conversion units paralleled for capacity, a single STS N+1 configuration and a wraparound maintenance bypass to allow UPS service without cutting power to A or B side of critical load. Battery DC energy storage system is arranged in an N+1 battery string per UPS module. Automatic transfer switches ensure the smooth transition of power to 8 x 2250 kW diesel generators in N+1 redundancy with 24 hours of fuel in multiple tanks. Precision cooling floor mounted chilled water air conditioning units provide N+1 cooling to each suite. Chilled water supplied through diverse and redundant loops from an N+1 configured central plant with multiple 1250 ton water cooled chillers. The data center is installed with rope style leak detection under all raised floors.
Omaha data center provides easy access to Level 3 premier broadband network, and also offers carrier neutral connectivity to alternate carriers. The data center has four diverse concrete encased fiber entry vaults available, and offers direct connection to Level 3 equipment via fast Ethernet, or fiber burstable to 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps. The services available at the facility includes private line and Ethernet, private line services, waves and Ethernet waves, Level 3 dedicated Internet access service, Level 3 high speed IP services, Level 3 EVPL services, Level 3 VPLS services, and Level 3 MPLS/IP VPN services.
