Flexential’s Minneapolis data center is located at 3500 Lyman Blvd, Chaska, MN 55318. The data center is located in the Minnesota metropolitan area and is a state certified facility that allows for rebates of all sales and use taxes paid to state on data center equipment, IT software, servers, networking gear and electricity. Customers may also benefit from an exemption on personal property tax by the state of Minnesota.
The data center offers flexible colocation space options available in half and full cabinet increments, customized cage space and private suites as well as customer office space. The data center provides 70,000 square feet of anti-static raised floor space for efficient cooling and airflow. The data center is a dual standard SSAE 16 and ISA3402 SOC-1 Type II, SOC-2 Type II and SOC-3 facility. The data center offers solutions in which customers can become compliant in the financial, healthcare and Federal industries that require regulatory authority of PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and ITAR standards as well as adherence to US-EU Safe Harbor privacy framework. The data center provides multi layered physical security to safeguard data center from unauthorized access with 24 x 7 x 365 on site security personnel, video surveillance and intercom system, 24×7 key card access with secondary biometric authentication, and 6-zone security access. The data center has a state of the art fire detection and suppression system with certified data center smoke detection system, certified VESDA incipient smoke detection, dual interlock pre action dry pipe fire suppression system and clean agent fire extinguishers placed throughout the facility.
The Minneapolis data center has a fully redundant and fault tolerant power infrastructure design that is concurrently maintainable, and offers 100% SLA on power. Power to the data center is fed through multiple medium voltage utility power feeds of 13.8kV class. A redundant UPS system of 9 MW power capacity with redundant battery strings, provide backup power supply in case of utility power loss, that is being backed up by 16 MW, fully redundant diesel generators having 30,000 gallons diesel fuel with 10% biofuel supply. The power to each cabinet is configured in A+B redundancy with failover protection with branch circuit monitoring system. The data center features a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) projected at 1.3 with full capacity and provides high density computing at 700+ watts per square feet. The data center provides 3,000 tons of cooling capacity for maintaining the optimal temperature in the data center in hot aisle/cold aisle configurations.
3500 Lyman Blvd data center is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity to multiple carriers and service providers. The data center provides a 100% SLA on bandwidth and network service availability. The facility has multiple redundant fiber optic telecommunication networks delivered via Telcordia Bellcore standards with diverse conduit and entrance facilities. The facility provides Ethernet services available from 5 Mbps to 10 Gbps, and telecommunication services available from T1 to multiple OC192. The data center is staffed 24x7x365 with data center technicians providing helpdesk and support services. The customers has also facility to contact Flexential Technical Assistance Center (V-TAC) with experience TAC support engineers.
