TierPoint’s Philadelphia-North data center is located at 1100 East Hector Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Data center is located 20 miles north of Philadelphia. The building is masonry and steel construction with ballistic resistant walls, doors, and windows.
The Conshohocken data center is a Tier II infrastructure. The colocation services are provided through cabinets and caged space. All the cage locks require unique laser etched keys with magnetic signatures to get access. Conshohocken data center provides 89,000 square feet of space including 15,650 square feet of raised floor data center space. The data center is SSAE 16 SOC 1 Type II and is SSAE 16 SOC 2 Type II certified facility, and meet the rigorous compliance requirements of PCI DSS and HIPAA. The data center has a very secure environment including 24 x 7 physical security, and sensor driven camera monitoring and recording of all the areas. Two factor authentications that include the use of biometric hand scanners verify unique hand geometry image and a heat signature before allowing entry into data center. Double man trap forces double verification and provide extra secure data center entry. The Conshohocken Data Center uses water sprinkler system and water detection alarms around the doors.
The data center has a very reliable and scalable power infrastructure. The power into the Conshohocken facility is provided via a high tension 13,200 volt input to a step down transformer with a 4000 AMP, 480V output. AC Power circuits are in 20 and 30 amp increments. The immediate power failure is protected by N+1 configured, 4 x 300 kVA and 3 x 300 kVA UPS system with battery bank. The 2.2 MW of diesel generator with 3,000 gallons of fuel storage onsite provides the emergency power on the loss of utility power. The cooling and humidity is maintained through 13 x Liebert HVAC units in N+1 configuration. The data center has Liebert water leak detection system below the raised floor.
The Conshohocken data center is a carrier neutral facility. TierPoint has multiple fiber providers available with diverse entrances into the Conshohocken Data Center with connections to major switching centers in Philadelphia, New York, and Newark. TierPoint utilizes geographically diverse carriers and connections for the SONET architecture that provides network connectivity throughout the national TierPoint data backbone. SLA covers network availability at 99.995%, which matches the Tier IV criterion. The network infrastructure is Cisco certified core network, and access to TierPoint MPLS network. TierPoint utilize Internet and MPLS connectivity via multiple fiber routes in and out of colocation, as well as diverse paths to the Internet. TierPoint utilizes a suite of monitoring tools and methods to provide proactive notification of server or service affecting events. 24 x 7 x 365 TAC center provides help desk services to the customers, and also continuously monitors critical events.
