Fortune Data Centers – San Jose Data Center

Fortune Data Centers’ San Jose data center is located at 2001 Fortune Dr., San Jose, CA 95131. The building meets FEMA essential facility seismic standards, and all improvements are built to 1.5 structural importance factor (SIF). The data center has 10,000 square feet of private office space, shipping and receiving area, and 380 parking spots. Fortune’s San Jose data center is a Tier III facility.

The Fortune Data Center offers wholesale and retail colocation solutions with designing and deploying solutions as cabinet and rack layout, and customized cage space for the tenants. The facility has clear height of 11 feet 6 inches from slab to lower side of ceiling grid, antistatic VCT throughout data rooms and corridors, and floor structural capacity of 2,500 pounds per square feet.  The data center is a ISO 9000:2001 certified facility. The data center security features 24x7x365 onsite security guards, secure building access, and video surveillance of all entrances, doors and floors. The access to data center floor is authenticated through the use of badge card reader and biometric scanner. The facility uses double interlock, pre action dry pipe fire suppression system for data rooms and electrical rooms, and separate suppression systems on equipment mezzanine.

San Jose data center offers reliable 2N service availability with concurrently maintainability on all infrastructures. The data center is an efficient energy design offering 30% cost reduction via market power purchase with delivered cost of 8 Cents per kWH. The data center is LEED Gold certified facility for design, construction, and operations, and offers 100% SLA on power and PUE of 1.3. The 9.3 MW of power to the data center is fed through 2 x PG&E distribution units. The entire critical infrastructure is protected by parallel and distributed UPS units in 2N redundant configurations. The facility uses 7 x on site utility substations converting 21 kV to 480V, 3 phases, with each substation is backed up by dedicated diesel generator. The data center has an eighth diesel generator providing additional redundancy via common reverse bus. These generators have a total of 17 MW generation capacity with 24,000 gallons of fuel storage capacity for 24 hours of runtime. The diverse power in A+B redundant configuration is delivered through PDUs in 2N configuration. The data center provides higher power densities of 200+ watts per square feet.  The cooling and humidity in the data center is automated through two independent chilled water plants with 7 x chillers and 7 x cooling towers producing 4,500 tons of cooling. The facility has 75 x air handling units and 6 sets of mechanical switchgear at N+3 redundancy. The cooling is supplied from overhead plenum in hot/cold aisle containment design. The data center also uses building management system (BMS) for monitoring of all critical infrastructure by on site staff.

Fortune Data Centers’ 2001 Fortune Dr. data center is a carrier neutral facility with connections to multiple Tier I providers. The data center has 2 x 4″ conduit from tenant space to Meet-Me-Room with diverse paths into MMR from North and South carrier vaults. The data center offers 100% SLA on network uptime. 24x7x365 NOC staff provides the support services and remote hands services.
