The Carpathia Blue Ridge data center is a Tier III facility and situated on 13 acres of land adjacent to Harrisonburg Technology Park, where many technology firms have been locating their operations. The Carpathia data center is located in a buffered zone between the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge mountain. The Carpathia data center is outside a 50 mile risk zone of nuclear power plants, outside 500 years flood plain with minimal risk of natural disaster and no recorded history of seismic activity. The data center offers a comprehensive suite of hosting services addressing SAS 70 type II, HIPAA, and PCI compliance requirements. The data center has 10,000 square feet of raised floor with expansion potential to 100,000 square feet. The facility security is maintained with perimeter security fencing, inside and outside 24×7 video surveillance, no vehicular traffic in the vicinity of facility, onsite security guards trained for anti terrorism, and electronic passage technology.
The facility provides 100 % SLA on electrical equipment, and provides power from dual 20 MW electrical transformers located on building property and service by two separate substations, and a 40 MW of upgradable critical power is available. The power failure is protected by N+1 configured 750 kVA UPS system with dual fed (A+B) power distribution units (PDUs) and power densities, and automatic transfer of electrical load to 12 x 2.5 MW of generators configured as N+1 redundancy. The data center has the least expensive electrical rate in the Virgina, and is not subject to any electrical consumption. The critical load cooling systems can be served by redundant chilled water plant to accommodate over 120 watts per square foot in either a 2N or up to N+ 3 configurations based on customer requirements. Data center is equipped with state of the art fire detection and suppression systems enhanced with the latest advancements in pre-action water technology.
The colocation services are provided through standard cabinets, and caged space. The Carpathia Blue Ridge data center is a carrier neutral facility and offers multiple optical fiber access including dark fiber. The Carpathia Harrisonburg data center has extended D-MARC from the main point of entry to accommodate cross connections in two meet me rooms.
