XO Communications’ San Francisco data center located at 651 Brannan Street, 3rd floor, San Francisco, CA 94107, is one of the two facilities that is owned and operated by XO Communications in San Francisco. The data center provides secure loading docks, and has on site parking available.
The data center offers colocation space through full size secured locking cabinets. The facility has a tar gravel roof, and 9 foot ceiling heights. The data center is regularly audited in accordance with SSAE 16 SOC 3 requirements, and also offers solutions that meet the rigorous compliance standards for HIPAA, PCI and SOX 404. The data center provides excellent security measures such as on site security officers, 24×7 closed circuit television (CCTV), open sound control (OSC) monitoring system, and has a secure entry through the use of biometric authentication and key card access control system. All access in the data center is remotely monitored by the XO NOC. The data center is equipped with pre action dry pipe and a FM 200 fire suppression system throughout the facility to meet any fire emergency.
XO’s 2nd San Francisco data center provides a reliable power infrastructure with single feed AC commercial power services. The entire critical infrastructure is protected by a UPS system that includes two battery strings capable of providing 9 minutes of backup time at full load in the event there is a loss of utility power. The standby diesel generators that are connected to an automatic transfer switch (ATS) provide emergency power for prolonged power outages. Generators are test run on a weekly basis, full load tested on a monthly basis, and has fuel storage on site for 24 hours of continuous runtime. The data center power room is separated from technical space with diverse power is delivered by multiple PDUs in true A+B design to each cabinet, and provides power density of 4 kW per cabinet or 160 watts per square feet. The data center provides DC power options designed for greater than 4 hours of battery reserves on multiple N+1 battery strings. The entire power infrastructure has monthly preventive maintenance performed and semi-annual comprehensive maintenance performed. The HVAC units maintained via water cooled precision cooling system in N+1 redundant configuration effectively controls the cooling and humidity in the data center. The HVAC units have monthly preventive maintenance performed and quarterly comprehensive maintenance performed.
XO Communications’ 651 Brannan Street data center is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity option to a private network. The facility has switched and dedicated access to transport facilities via high-capacity metropolitan and long haul XO network facilities. The data center has a fully redundant network infrastructure offering 100% SLA on network and server availability. The data center provides VLANs, customized firewalls, site to site VPN, load balancing and multicast, and IDS/IPS. The on site staff provides helpdesk and support services, and remote hands services.
