The Oak Brook data center provides a reliable and fault tolerant N+1 power infrastructure. The entire critical infrastructure is protected by a N+1 UPS system in the event there is a loss of utility power. The 2 x 1.25 MW and 4 x 2.25 MW standby diesel generators that are connected to an automatic transfer switch (ATS) provide emergency power for prolonged power outages. The generators have fuel storage on site for up to 48 hours of continuous runtime and have multiple refueling contracts. The data center power room is separated from the technical space with diverse power delivered by multiple PDUs in a true A+B design to each cabinet. The 20 x 130 ton custom Trane rooftop HVAC unit in a N+1 redundant configuration effectively control the cooling and humidity in the data center. Multiple CRAC units provide cooling for electrical rooms and private micro suites, and can also accommodate additional overhead cooling for high density environments in raised floor areas.
