In production since November 2009, VISI’s Des Moines IA data center is located on 5 acres, is a Tier 3 facility, and is located at 390 NE Alices Road, Des Moines IA 50325. The facility itself is purpose built, and is over 46,000 square feet; which includes a 16,000 foot data center as well as a 3,350 foot Network Operations Center. Clients also have access to the facility 24/7/365, parking spaces on site, as well as a loading dock.
6 Megawatts of power are delivered to the facility via two diverse path utility feeds, ensuring a 2N UPS configuration. Backup generators are also located on site, with an N+1 configuration and 30+ hours of fuel is stored at the facility with multiple priority refueling contracts with local suppliers, in the case of a prolonged outage. The facilities HVAC system is also configured at a N+1 UPS.
Security at the facility is multi-layered, including security officers onsite 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A Biometric and proximity card system is also in place, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to their IT assets, and finally digital video surveillance is monitored and recorded at all entrances.
