Vertex SSX (Super Switch Exchange) is a network operations center based in Los Angeles CA, 1 mile from the One Wilshire Meet-Me-Room. Their co-location facility is at 615 S. Grand Ave. Los Angeles CA 90017.
At the center of the co-location facility is the Network Operations center. It is a state of the art facility, standing two stories tall and over 11,000 square feet. The NOC is responsible for maintaining network reliability, control, and the security of assets.
Within the facility, clients are given access to customizable solutions for their infrastructure needs. Multiple cabinet configurations as well as custom cages are available, and clients also have the flexibility to choose among multiple competitive carriers. 24/7/365 technical support is also available on site, as well as access to an online troubleshooting ticket system. Client’s physical assets are also well protected and maintained through a multi-layered security system. SSX deploys 24/7 security guards, as well as digital video surveillance, man traps and biometric scanning systems. Customers are also notified with status reporting and resolution tracking for tickets, and on-site staff are constantly monitoring for resource utilization, optimization and other performance criteria.
Power is fed into the facility through AC power as well as a DC plant. The AC power feed is 600 amp with 240v three-phase services. There is also a single phase 1200 amp with 220 volts. For the DC power plant, two 3200 Amp hour battery stacks are on site, with two amp rectifiers for duel 48VDC feeds. The HVAC system is also powered by three 10 ton air conditioning units which provide redundant cooling throughout the building.
