Vault Network’s Miami data center is located at 100 N. Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132, and one of the two facilities in Miami. The data center is located in the heart of downtown Miami. The data center is a category 5 hurricane rated facility and resides outside of FEMA’s 500-year flood zone. The data center building was built in 1963, and was renovated in 2006 to telecom standards. The data center also provides freight elevators.
The data center offers full rack colocation space with choice of bandwidth and amperage. The colocation features disaster recovery, network redundancy, regulatory compliance, technical support, and a 99.999% guaranteed level of service. The data center is SSAE 16 SOC II certified facility. The data center is manned 24 x 7 x 365 by security personnel who control access to building. The data center is monitored by CCTV cameras that are integrated into the alarm system, and all the footage is archived for future retrieval. Access to data center itself is controlled through a biometric hand scan and key card, and all cabinets are securely locked on both sides. The rack space is only accessible by key, and racks are built so that each unit is completely inaccessible by other clients that may share rack space in the nearby area. The dual alarmed, dual interlock, multi-zoned, pre-zoned, pre-action dry pipe fire suppression is installed in the data center for life safety.
Miami data center is an N+1 infrastructure. The facility shares the dual power grid that services local hospitals, federal and state courthouses. The data center provides 120V, 208V, and 480V AC power, and 48V DC power via an underground feed served by two substations. True A and B feeds are delivered to the equipment for redundancy. The 225 kVA UPS system in N+1 configuration provides the emergency power on the loss of utility power with automatic transfer of load to 2 x 1.5 MW Cummins diesel generators. The 5 x 12 tons air conditioners control the cooling and humidity in the data center. The 14′ high ceilings in a raised floor environment ensure that equipment is maintained with N+1 cooling. This provides optimum airflow, with a constant 72ºF temperature and 40-60% humidity.
The data center is a carrier neutral facility. The Vault Networks Internet backbone utilizes premium Tier-1 bandwidth providers, ensuring minimal latency and fast connections. Multiple global carriers service Vault Networks, including INTERNAP, FiberLight, AT&T, TW Telecom, Comcast Business Class, Verizon Business, Level 3, Global Crossing, Qwest, Florida Power & Light, Bellsouth, Savvis, and XO Communications. The data center has two conduit entry points, one from east and one from west. The 24 x 7 x 365 NOC provides technical and support services. The data center also offers remote and smart hand services.
