TierPoint – Charlotte 4 Data Center

TierPoint’s Charlotte 4 data center is located at 1805 Center Park Drive, Charlotte, NC 28217. The data center is one of the four data center facilities that is operated by TierPoint in Charlotte. The single story building is a secure masonry and steel construction.

The data center provides N+1 colocation space options ranging from single U cabinet space, 1/4 cabinet, 1/3 cabinet, 1/2 cabinet, full cabinet, locking cabinet, customized cage space, and private suites. The data center provides 39,300 square feet of data center/office space, and 10,830 square feet of 36″ anti-static raised floor space that is designed to support 1,200 lbs. per square feet load. The data center is annually audited for its controls and is a SSAE 16 SOC1 Type II, SSAE 16 SOC2 Type II and SSAE 16 SOC3 Type II certified facility. The data center also offers solutions to meet the rigorous compliance requirements of HIPAA and PCI DSS standards. Multi-layered security prevent any unauthorized access to the data center with 24x7x365 onsite security personnel, facility entrance subject to badge or security clearance, data center access through biometric hand scanners, monitoring through CCTV cameras and lightning protection throughout the facility. The data center is equipped with an early warning smoke detection system and pre action dry pipe fire suppression system to meet any fire emergencies.

The Charlotte data center provides reliable and fault tolerant 2N redundant power infrastructure and can offer 100% SLA on power. Immediate power failure is protected by a redundant and diverse 4 x 750 kVA Toshiba G9000 UPS system in 2N redundant configuration for 900 kW critical load, in an event of utility power loss. 2 x 2.25 MW Kohler diesel generators provide backup power to the entire facility during a power outage, with 3,900 gallons of onsite fuel storage tanks. Power to each cabinet is delivered in a fully diverse A&B feed with each circuit run from different UPS and generator system that insure uninterrupted power to the system. Multiple redundant CRAC units maintain appropriate cooling and humidity levels in the data center for optimized performance of all components and can be monitored remotely.

The 1805 Center Park Drive data center is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity to multiple carriers and service providers. The data center offers 100% SLA on network connectivity with flexible solutions including optical fiber, copper and wireless. The data center has multiple diverse feeds to each from separate paths into the building, and TierPoint provided redundant IP bandwidth with 10Gb connectivity. 24x7x365 NOC with onsite Level 2 and Level 3 Engineers provides helpdesk and support services.
