TierPoint’s Bethlehem data center is located at 3864 Courtney St, Ste 130, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Data center strategically located outside of severe weather and seismic zone, and is rated to withstand hurricane force winds. The building is masonry and steel construction with ballistic resistant walls, doors, and windows.
Bethlehem data center is a Tier III infrastructure. The colocation services are provided through cabinets, caged space, and raised floor private data center suites. All the cage locks require unique laser etched keys with magnetic signatures to get access. Bethlehem data center provides 36,000 square feet of space including 20,000 square feet of 24 to 36 inches high raised floor with 1200 lbs. per square feet load bearing capacity. The data center is SSAE 16 SOC I Type II certified. The data center has a very secure environment including 24 x 7 physical security, and sensor driven camera monitoring and recording of all the areas. Two factor authentications that include the use of biometric hand scanners verify unique hand geometry image and a heat signature before allowing entry into data center. Double man trap forces double verification and provide extra secure data center entry. The Bethlehem Data Center uses a FM 200 and dry-pipe, multi zone pre-action sprinkler system. The system utilizes a grid work of smoke and heat sensors both in the ceiling and below raised floors.
The data center has a very reliable and scalable power infrastructure, and is a 2N or system plus redundancy design. The power distribution systems ensure that every power circuit delivered to a customer’s cabinet is clean and isolated from other customer circuits. AC Power circuits are in 20 and 30 amp increments, and facility provides 175 watts per square feet of power density. Bethlehem facility maintains 8 Liebert PDUs with three circuits panels each. Each Static Switch PDU has an A-side and B-side input source and is capable of switching between sources within 4ms in the event of an upstream system failure. The immediate power failure is protected by N+1 configured, 5 x 750 kVA Mitsubishi UPS system with battery bank. The 5 diesel generators in N+1 configuration provides the backup facility on the loss of utility power. The cooling and humidity is maintained through 8 x Liebert HVAC units in N+1 configuration. The data center has Liebert water leak detection system, and also installed with Foreseer and JACE building management system to monitor all critical infrastructure.
Bethlehem data center is a carrier neutral facility. TierPoint has multiple fiber providers available with diverse entrances into the Bethlehem Data Center with connections to major switching centers in Philadelphia, PA, New York, NY, and Newark, NJ. TierPoint utilizes geographically diverse carriers and connections for the SONET architecture that provides network connectivity throughout the national TierPoint data backbone. SLA covers network availability at 99.995%, which matches the Tier IV criterion. The network infrastructure is Cisco certified core network, and access to TierPoint MPLS network. TierPoint utilize Internet and MPLS connectivity via multiple fiber routes in and out of colocation, as well as diverse paths to the Internet. TierPoint utilizes a suite of monitoring tools and methods to provide proactive notification of server or service affecting events. 24 x 7 x 365 TAC center provides help desk services to the customers, and also continuously monitors critical events.
