Telehouse’s Teleport data center is located at 7 Teleport Dr. Staten Island NY 10314. The facility is located in The Teleport, a 100-acre office park on Staten Island, operated by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and is just 17 miles from Manhattan and less than 12 miles from Newark Airport. Considered as the suburb of the city, Staten Island is the quietest and least densely populated of the five boroughs of NYC, offering an ideal environment for your critical systems, while only minutes from Manhattan.
Teleport data center is a Tier III facility, and has been operational since 1989. The New York colocation services are provided through partial/full cabinets, caged space, and private suites. The data center is Telehouse’s largest US facility providing 162,000 square feet of space including dedicated disaster recovery business continuity space. The data center is SSAE 16 SOC I type II certified and is 24 inches raised floor design. The Teleport Park’s security by the port authority of NY & NJ Police includes outer perimeter steel fencing, outer perimeter infrared detectors and video, security gate and patrolling by security guards, and authorized access requires picture ID. Second, Telehouse employ its own security measurements including 24 x 7 video surveillance with motion detection and recording, security guards and patrolling, electronic card and biometric authentication access, and Photo ID verification for entrance into the building. The data center is equipped with pre-action sprinklers, and Halon or FM200 fire suppression system.
A total of 10 MW of power is fed to the data center with redundant commercial power feeds. The power failure is protected by 4 rotatory UPS system with 1,800 kVA usable and 4 static UPS with 1,500 kVA usable in N+1 configuration. The eight backup battery strings are capable of providing 15 minutes of backup facility at full load. The continuous secondary power is provided by 6 diesel generators in N+1 configuration with 48 hours of fuel storage and multiple refilling contracts. The N+1 configured cooling system is installed in the data center for automating temperature and humidity in the data center. The centralized monitoring for all HVAC systems 24/7 in the data center.
The New York data center is a carrier neutral facility with options to connect with multiple carriers/ISPs capable of meeting any telecom need. The data center has DSR-IDF cabling infrastructure (virtual meet me rooms) throughout building suites, and transport capability to major local carrier hotels. Teleport has two completely diverse fiber routes to/from sites with diverse building entry paths, and offers connection to NYIIX, New York’s largest, most active IP peering exchange, ranking in top 10 internationally. 24 x 7 customer’s assistance center with onsite technical support provides Remote Hands services. Level 2 to Level 4 support is available.
