SunGard – Philadelphia Data Center (PHL-401)

SunGard Philadelphia data center (PHL-401) is located at 401 North Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19103. The data center has 1 x private conference room, 1 x Network Operation Center (NOC), 300 x furnished work stations, and 8 x 10,000 lbs. service elevators. All areas handicapped accessible by ramps for ease of movement of materials and equipment. The data center offers colocation and managed hosting, recovery and hotsite services, workforce continuity, messaging and collaboration, and network and managed security services.

SunGard colocation services includes tailored colocation data center space including cabinets with 42U capacity, or secure cages offering more space and added security for compliance. The 1,160,000 square feet facility provides 578,000 square feet of leased space and 230,000 square feet of raised floor. The floor is designed for the floor load of 200 lbs. per square feet. The data center has implemented ISO certified security procedures. The data center security features 24 x 7 security services, closed circuit TV throughout facility, exterior security cameras, integrated card reader security system, and biometric readers. The data center uses pre action dry pipe sprinkler fire suppression system with VESDA control for any fire spark. The data center uses gas extinguishing systems in sub floor.

Philadelphia data center provides a very reliable power infrastructure, and offers 100% SLA on power. The power to data center is served by 2 x redundant utility feeds. The immediate power failure is protected by UPS systems in N+1 configuration. The standby power is provided by 8 x 2,000 kW diesel generators and 1 x 1,750 kW diesel generator with 32,000 gallons of Belly fuel storage tanks. 4,100 tons of chilled water capacity with return plenum HVAC solution for more efficient heat removal is used in the data center. The facility provides free cooling for winter season using Evapco dry coolers.

The data center is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity to multiple Tier One backbones via carrier-diverse local loops. The data center provides meshed, multi-vendor Internet transit connectivity, diverse path long haul access (public or private), diverse fiber entry and intra-building fiber paths, redundant internal network distribution platforms, private production and recovery MPLS backbone access dedicated to SunGard subscriber traffic, and dual customer physical handoffs (Copper, single-mode and multi-mode fiber).
