SunGard Chicago data center (CHI-711) is located at 711 North Edge wood Avenue, Wood Dale, IL 60191. The data center has 1 x managed services center, 4 x Mainframe command centers, 10 x mid-range command centers, 5 x LAN command centers and 50 x seat MetroCenter. The data center offers colocation and managed hosting, recovery and hotsite services, workforce continuity, messaging and collaboration, and network and managed security services.
SunGard colocation services includes tailored colocation data center space including cabinets with 42U capacity, or secure cages offering more space and added security for compliance. The data center provides 150,000 square feet of total space, including 85,000 square feet of raised floor space. The data center security features integrated card reader security system, closed circuit TV throughout the facility, exterior security cameras and 24×7 security services. Two hour fire wall surrounds entire data center. The data center uses pre action dry pipe sprinkler fire suppression system for any fire spark.
Wood Dale data center provides a very reliable power infrastructure, and offers 100% SLA on power. The data center utility power is provided by 2 x diverse 12kV ComEd electrical feeds. The immediate power failure is protected by 2 x 1,000 kVA Liebert UPS module and 1 x 750 kVA Liebert UPS modules. The standby power is provided by 2 x 2,000 kW Caterpillar diesel generators with 10,000 gallons fuel storage tank onsite. The data center has Automatic Throw-Over switch (ATO) and ASCO Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS). The cooling and humidity in the data center is controlled by 75 x Liebert CRAC units delivering 1,800 tons cooling. The DataTrax monitoring system monitors all CRAC units, electrical and mechanical infrastructure, utility power, ATS, UPS, and PDUs for various alarm conditions, temperature, humidity and other potential alarm conditions.
The data center is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity to multiple Tier One backbones via carrier-diverse local loops. The data center provides meshed multi-Vendor Internet transit connectivity, Multiple ILEC and CLEC access providers, diverse path long haul access (Public and Private), diverse fiber entry and intra-building fiber paths, redundant internal network distribution platforms, dual customer physical handoffs (Copper, single-mode and multi-mode fiber) and private production and recovery MPLS backbone access dedicated to SunGard subscriber traffic. 24 x 7 x 365 onsite NOC provides the support and helpdesk services to its customers.
