Steadfast’ Chicago data center 1 is located at 350 E Cermak Road, Chicago, IL 60623, and of two data centers in Chicago. The data center was completed in multiple phases completed each in 2001, 2005, 2009, and 2011.
Chicago data center is a Tier III infrastructure facility. Colocation services are provided through single server, half and full cabinets, and private cages that is designed to host 5 or more cabinets. Steadfast offers managed colocation services with additional features like system administration, physical hardware assistance, server backup and restore etc. The data center is considered to be one of the largest data centers offering 1 Million square feet of colocation space.
The data center provides SSAE 16 SOC III audited cloud services including public, private, and hybrid cloud offerings. The data center has completed SSAE 16 audits to help assure proper methods and procedures. Visual confirmation and strict sign in procedures, both conducted by trained security personnel, along with key cards, and photo ID verification ensure that only authorized personnel have access with no unattended entrance to data center. All areas of data center are monitored and recorded by high resolution digital video cameras. The data center uses a dual interlock, pre action dry pipe sprinkler system throughout the facility that constantly monitors the physical environment for smoke, chemicals and other hazardous materials that might spark a fire.
The data centers offer complete redundancy in power, HVAC, network connectivity, and security. The data center sits at multiple power grids, with full UPS battery backup power for 15 minutes backup, and a diesel generators onsite. Conditioned AC power with two independent A & B power buses is fed to data center. HVAC systems maintain a minimum of N+1 redundancy, allowing the data center to maintain a constant, cool environment that is conducive to our customers’ mission-critical equipment and operations.
Steadfast data center is a carrier neutral facility in 2N configuration, with access to dozens of third party backbone providers via cross connects. The network is supplied by several separate networks including, Level(3), NTT, Inteliquent, Tata, and nLayer. The fiber provided to the data centers is also provided over redundant paths, with diverse entry points. The data center is a primary carrier hotel in Chicago with direct access, through Equinix and the building meet-me-room (MMR), to hundreds of networks, such as Verizon, Zayo, CenturyLink, XO Communication, Sprint, AT&T, and Cogent. The customers get direct, immediate access to expert engineers, round the clock, anytime, any day with no voicemails 24 x 7 x 365.
