The Savvis Chicago Data Center CH2 is located at 2425 Busse Road in Chicago, Illinois. The three Chicago metro data centers, located in Chicago and Elk Grove Village, Illinois offer over 193,000 square feet of premier data center space designed to meet the stringent demands of enterprise customers. Savvis offers a wide range of managed services in the CH2 data center from simple colocation to fully managed IT infrastructure hosting.
The facility is a proven standard data center design and is a Tier III infrastructure. The Chicago colocation services are provided through cabinets and caged spaces. The Savvis Chicago data center provides 38,338 square feet of data center space, and has 24 inch or 36 inch raised floors. The facility is SSAE 16 SOC I Type II certified and TIA 942 compliant from both design and operational prospective. The data center features a 24 x 7 x 365 on site security guard presence, perimeter fencing, video surveillance, and ballistic entrance. All building access is through key card and biometric authentication, with mantrap. Sophisticated HVAC, fire suppression and seismic engineering capabilities protect infrastructure, systems and data from natural and man-made catastrophes.
The Chicago data center offer 100 % SLA on power, cooling, and infrastructure availability. The Chicago CH2 facility provides a total of 4.4 MW of the power to the data center, and offers power density of 225 watts per square feet. The data center has redundant bus, and protect power failure with N+1 configured UPS system capable to provide backup for 9 minutes at full load. The secondary power source is provided by N+1 configured diesel generators with on site fuel storage capacity with multiple fuel contracts. The N+1 configured HVAC units with hot aisle/cold aisle to regulate the cooling and humidity in the data center is installed. Data center Infrastructure Management System (DCIM) allows for continuous management of customer and data center environments down to the rack level.
The Savvis Chicago data center is a carrier neutral facility and offers cross connects to a broad variety of network providers including the Savvis global Tier 1 backbone to meet public and private network connectivity needs. The facility provides exceptional 24 x 7 x 365 client support and optional services, including remote hands Gold Support. Savvis is a Tier 1 ISP and has its own global OC-192 network providing interconnection to all data centers as well as other POPS around the world. It offer a variety of connectivity options, including Internet bandwidth, Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Virtual Private Network (VPN), Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL), Ethernet Private Line (EPL) and Private Line Services (PLS).
