QTS’ (Quality Technology Services) Topeka data center is located at 400 SE Jefferson St. Topeka, KN 66607. The data center is a 16,000 square foot, single story building constructed with concrete blocks and bricks.
QTS offers Kansas colocation options from single cabinets to multi rack cages to private suites. The facility provides 9,000 square feet of data center floor space, and 4,500 square feet of support and training including desk, offices, and conference rooms. The facility has multiple security cameras for video surveillance of critical areas with digital recording and storage of video, and computer area access through a key card door system.
Power to the data center is fed by Weststar Energy with redundant power from separate substations available. The power failure is protected by a 375 KVA battery based UPS system, and automatic transfer of critical and non critical load to primary 800 KW diesel generator with hook up for secondary drive up generator with a 500 gallon fuel reserve on site. The DC power facility is also available. The redundant HVAC units are installed in the data center to effectively moderate cooling and humidity. The FM200 suppression system with smoke sensors installed are located throughout the floor space, and a standard water system is installed in the office area for safety. Air temperature, humidity, fire detection and water pressure are managed by an automated control system, which pages all alert situations to trained facility engineers.
The Quality Technology Services Kansas data center is a carrier neutral facility providing access to multiple providers for local fiber, Internet connectivity. The data center has dual fiber entrances into the building. Internal cabling, copper, coax or fiber access, to carrier bandwidth using cable management systems throughout the facility. The engineers are trained to control and maintain all critical facility components, and are available by pager.
