QTS’s (Quality Technology Services) Santa Clara I data center is located at 2807 Mission College Blvd. Santa Clara, CA 95054. Santa Clara is in the heart of the Silicon Valley and is home to several international high-tech corporations. The California data center is built with a steel frame/concrete tilt up wall structure, and provides data center space, office space, and conference room facility. The Quality Technology Services data center provides a secured shipping and receiving area designated for customer owned equipment. The Santa Clara data center provides QTS’s core data center solutions; custom data center, colocation, and cloud services to a broad spectrum of businesses including Web 2.0, media and entertainment, and multinational corporations.
The Santa Clara colocation services are provided through cabinets, caged space, and private rooms. The Santa Clara I data center resides across two floors. The data center provides a total of 65,000 square feet of enclosed space including 41,000 square feet of 18 inches raised floor on first floor, and 24 inches raised floor on second floor. The data center is SSAE 16 SOC I type II certified. The facility features an excellent security measures by employing security guards 24×7 on site, and 42 security cameras for video surveillance both inside and outside of the facility with recording and archiving facility. All building entrances require card key access while data center floor and secured areas access require card key and biometric authentication. The data center is equipped with two fire suppression system including double interlock pre action dry pipe, a Fenwal FM-200 fire detection at first floor, and VESDA control at second floor.
The power is delivered to the facility with Primary Switch Gear (PSG) via dual entrances from redundant substations. Power failure is protected by 7 x 600 KVA Liebert UPS system. The secondary power to the facility is provided through 3 x 1.250 MW diesel generators in N+1 configuration, and 4 x 1 MW of diesel generators in N+1 configuration with 10,200 gallons of on site fuel storage. A Building Management System (BMS) provides information from more than 18,000 hardwired nodes located throughout the facility. Four state of the art chillers provide cooling to the data center floor and non critical office space with N+1 configuration. The facility provides leak detection under all raised floors.
The California data center is a carrier neutral facility providing access to multiple providers for local fiber, Internet connectivity. The diverse entrances into building including multiple local central office redundancy with fiber and network access to multiple primary carriers. QTS Metro Connect Service offers additional connectivity to providers in 11 Great Oaks (Carrier Hotel). Internal cabling, copper, coax or fiber access, to carrier bandwidth using cable management systems throughout the facility.
