QTS’ Overland data center is located at 12851 Foster St. Overland Park, KS 66213. The Overland Park data center is the corporate headquarters of QTS, and includes data center space, customer and QTS offices and common areas. The data center is 38,000 square feet, two-story building with hardener pour concrete structure and brick; hard rock, steel mesh intrusion proofing; and no exterior windows in computer area.
QTS offers colocation space options from single cabinets to multi rack cages to private suites. The data center provides 2,500 square feet of 18 inch raised flooring, and is a PCI compliant facility. The facility has multiple security cameras for video surveillance of critical areas with digital recording and storage of video with computer area access through card key door system, and biometric hand scanners.
The power to the data center is fed by dual feed, single grid power from Kansas City Power and Light. Redundant 255 KVA UPS system provides emergency power with automatic transfer to 1 x 500 KW diesel generator on power failure. The redundant Liebert HVAC units are installed in the data center to effectively moderate cooling and humidity. Dual fire suppression systems, pre action dry pipe and FE 227 with smoke detectors installed throughout the facility. Air temperature, humidity, fire detection and water pressure are managed by automated control system.
The data center is a carrier neutral facility providing access to multiple providers for local fiber, Internet connectivity. The available in-house carriers include AT&T, TW Telecom, Global crossing, Surewest, and Verizon. The data center has dual fiber entrances with copper or fiber access to carrier bandwidth using cable management systems throughout the building. The engineers are trained to control and maintain all critical facility components, and are available by pager.
