QTS’ Jersey City data center is located at 95 Christopher Columbus Drive on the 16-18 floors in a 19 story building. The data center is located six miles from Manhattan, and provides a crucial presence in the tri state area where data center space is highly coveted, given the proximity requirements and strong demand from the financial services market.
QTS offers colocation space options from single cabinets to multi rack cages to private suites. The data center provides 122,00 square feet of space that include 51,000 square feet of data center space with 39,000 square feet of 18 inche raised floor. The data center is SSAE 16 type II certified, and PCI compliant. The facility has excellent security measures with 24x7x365 security guards, multiple security cameras for video surveillance of entrances, alternate work space, and data center floor. The data center resources access is provided through card key door system, and biometric hand scanners. QTS offers space options from single cabinets to multi rack cages to private suites. The cages are built-in sixty-four square feet (8×8) sections while private suites provides more space with solid wall structures that restrict visibility as well as multiple security controls.
The power to the data center is fed via dual 480V PSE&G feeds originating from two separate power substations. The power failure is protected by three 625 KVA Liebert UPS system supplying 1 MW of power to 16th and 18th floor, with one unit redundant, and two 750 KVA Liebert UPS system supply 500 KW of power to 16th and 17th floor in N+1 configuration. Two generators of 1250 KW and 2 MW each diesel generators backup the critical and non critical power loads. All power cabling below floors is installed in either conduit or seal tight flexible conduit with approved connectors to all equipment. The N+1 configured dry cooling plants, and redundant piping systems for glycol to effectively moderate cooling and humidity. The data center is equipped with multi stage pre action dry pipe fire suppression system, Halon fire suppression or VESDA, and smoke sensors installed above and below raised floor.
The QTS data center is a carrier neutral facility providing access to multiple providers for local fiber, Internet connectivity. The available in-house carriers include AboveNet, AT&T, Level 3, and many others. The data center has diverse fiber into the building; SONET and fiber access with three points of entry. QTS metro connect services offers additional connectivity to providers in 111 8th Ave. The engineers are trained to control and maintain all critical facility components, and are available by pager.
