Navisite’s data centers feature a bevy of features that make them an attractive option for businesses trying to reduce costs, minimize risk, and maintain a strong and secure IT infrastructure. Navisite deploys over 200,000 square feet of usable data center space in all kinds of configurations including custom racks, raised floors and cabinets. Physical security at their locations is also maintained through keycard access and biometric screening. Entrance into each facility requires either mandatory visitor registration, visitor escorts or employee badge access.
The environment of each data center is also closely monitored through network operations centers which keep tabs on temperature and humidity levels. All data centers also have early warning AnaLASER fire suppression systems with both smoke and high temperature detectors, and a dry pipe, with a double-interlock fire suppression system.
Uninterrupted power is also crucial, and is guaranteed by parallel UPS systems as well as a battery backup system. Both systems are redundantly supplied through different power utilities. The HVAC systems at each data center is also run on N+1 UPS systems. In addition to focusing on power availability and performance, Navisite is also a member of the “Green Grid” consortium of data centers, and as such, they deploy energy-efficient servers, storage and networking equipment. Their systems and proprietary monitoring software cut energy consumption of its cooling systems by as much as 20%.
