INAP’s Los Angeles data center is located at 3690 Redondo Beach Avenue, Redondo Beach, CA 90278. The data center is adjacent to many media and entertainment companies and offers convenient access to highways, airports and hotels. The data center originally built in 1968 and retrofitted in 2012, has 1.5 importance factor with seismic zone IID design, and is outside the floodplain. The building is structural steel and reinforced concrete construction. The facility provides amenities like fully equipped office space, conference room, technical workspace and adjacent breakdown rooms, and full service lounge.
The data center offers a number of colocation options, including cabinets in half and full sizes, and custom private caged space. INAP uses Chatsworth Products’ 4-Post QuadraRack ServerFrame which provides a highly secure storage environment. The data center provides 55,000 square feet of colocation space, and 14 feet of clear ceiling height. 36 inches antistatic raised floor provides the efficient cooling and easy management of cabling system. The facility is regularly audited in accordance with SSAE 16 Type II requirements. The data center provides the state of the art security measures, including 24x7x365 security guards onsite, CCTV monitoring with archiving of data for 90 days, and intrusion detection system. The entrance to the data center floor is authenticated through the use of card key and biometric scan. The facility uses multi zone pre action dry pipe fire suppression system for the life safety. The facility has VESDA control, subfloor smoke detection facility, and is remotely monitored.
Los Angeles data center is a reliable and fault tolerant N+1 power infrastructure with concurrently maintainable power system. The facility is efficient energy design with LEED Gold certification, and provides efficient working environment by consuming fewer fossil fuels, reducing greenhouse emissions, minimizing the impact on land. The 6 MW utility power to the data center is delivered by Southern California Edison. The entire critical infrastructure is protected by 2 x 1.4 MW APC UPS system in N+1 redundancy on power failure. The secondary power is provided by two Detroit diesel generators onsite. The DC battery bank provides 20 minutes of backup time on full load, and power density of 12 kW per rack. The cooling and humidity in the data center is maintained by 2 x 400 tons chillers in N+1 configuration. The hot aisle, cold aisle separation and passive cooling solutions maximize cooling efficiencies.
3690 Redondo Beach Avenue is a carrier neutral facility with robust carrier neutral meet-me-room, including alternative transit and local access options. The data center offers 100% network uptime SLA. INAP’s multi-homed route optimized Performance IP provides links up to 10GB through multiple top tier carriers. 24x7x365 NOC staff provides the helpdesk and support services, and remote hands services.
