The GramTel data center is located at 333 Bridge St. NW. The Grand Rapids data center offers a total of 30,000 square feet of space, 14,000 square feet of which is 24 and 36 inches of raised floor white space for the colocation services. The expansion facility is also available for custom data halls and office spaces. The GramTel data center is SSAE 16 SOC 2 certified and provides excellent security features that include 24×7 on site security guards, and video surveillance with recording of the exterior and interior of the facility. The data center is accessed through biometric scans, and key cards that are color coded. The GramTel colocation services are provided through cabinets, caged space, and private suites.
The facility is built to top-tier standards, and boasts two diverse and redundant utility power feeds. A total of 3.5 MW of power are available from two transformers, 1.5 MW and 2 MW, fed from a single upstream feeder, and a 150 kVA PDU with single feed. The installed power cables are High Performance Computing (HPC) capable, which supports 150 square feet. The emergency power to the data center is provided through scalable 2.5 MW Cummins dedicated generators with 8000 gallon site capacity configured to N+1 redundancy. The raised floor is designed to control cooling to the data center and is maintained through N+1 CRAC units with 420 tons cooling capacity and Glycol cooling loops. The Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) system; sampling air in parts per million coupled with a zonal dual action interlocking dry-pipe system, is installed in the data center for life safety.
