Fiberpipe’s Boise data center has a bevy of features, redundancies and infrastructure enhancements that make it a premier choice for clients wanting to outsource their IT resources. Its starts with the security of the facility itself, and inside, a multi-layered security system monitors the environment and physical security at all times. All doors are double locked requiring both keys and HID to obtain access. Video surveillance and on-site personnel also monitor the facility 24 hours a day, seven days a week. An additional level of security involves fire protection, which includes a VESDA air sampling system as well as a pre-action dry pipe fire suppression system that won’t release until fire damage reaches Stage 3.
Fiberpipe is also able to provide a secure environment for clients through its redundant power, cooling and network systems. The power infrastructure includes redundant (A) and (B) power feeds which delivers up to 150 watts per square foot. The UPS design is set up in an N+1 configuration with a battery back up. In case there is a primary utility failure, Catepillar generators automatically start-up and produce up to 1.5 megawatts of power to the data center. The cooling systems are powered by a 177 ton high-efficiency chiller and set up in an N+1 configuration. The chilled water system works by pressurizing the raised floor with conditioned air, which ensures the air is below 75 degrees at all times.
Finally, the network system is powered by Fiberpipe’s 10 gig, fully redundant rings and multiple carrier neutral cross-connects which guarantee’s clients a 99.9999% uptime.
Established in 2000, Fiberpipe operates a data center in Boise ID, and is currently working on development of additional Tier III data centers. In addition to its colocation offerings, Fiberpipe also offers clients a range of additional services including internet access, web hosting and managed services.
