Open since November 2013, the Owings Mills Data Center just outside Baltimore is Expedient Communications newest facility. Its located at 11155 Red Run Blvd, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
Part of a local area network of Baltimore data centers, Expedient’s Owings Mills co-location facility offers clients a safe and secure infrastructure for their IT needs, whether they be small or large. The facility supports numerous regulatory standards including SSAE-16, PCI-DSS and HIPAA. SOC1 and SOC 2 reporting is also available.
Inside, there is up to 9,000 square feet of raised floor space. The facility’s operations support center is fully staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and clients have access to the facility at all hours. Video surveillance, biometric hand scanners and key card access provide a multi-layered security structure at all times. Inside, state of the art fire suppression systems are also in place, which includes an independent pre-action sprinkler system and FM-200 fire suppression agent. The operations control center also closely monitors temperature and humidity.
The power infrastructure at the facility is backed by a Liebert Dual Redundant 675KW/750KVA UPS system. The cooling system includes CRAC units and air handlers for up to 331 tons of cooling. The network infrastructure is also state of the art, and for clients, includes direct access to multiple Tier 1 internet providers. Expedient’s high availability network includes firewalls and load balancers, and multiple Expedient data centers are connected via a 10Gbps fiber optic ring. On site engineers are also available 24 hours a day to provide network support.
