Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Digital Realty’s SCL2 data center is located at 2820 Northwestern Pkwy, Santa Clara CA 95051.
The Digital Realty SCL2 data center is purpose built, and consists of 40,000 square feet of data center floor space. The building is located outside the 100 year flood plain, and is certified as seismic level zone 4. The facility has a multi-layered security structure, including 24 hour a day, seven days a week on site staff as well as biometric security, key card access and continuous video surveillance. The data center is SOC 2 compliant and on-site staff monitor the power, cooling and network connectivity at all times. In addition to its access to cages and cabinets, clients also have access to roof rights and access to parking if needed.
In order to maintain data center functionality, Digital Realty also deploys redundant power, cooling and network systems that ensure maximum up-time. The local utility provides up to 25,000 total kilowatts of power (25 Megawatts) and the UPS systems have a capacity of 5,700 kilowatts and are arranged in a 2N configuration. This set up allows for up to 425 watts of power to be delivered per square foot. On site generators are also configured in an N+1 arrangement, and can deliver up to 24,000 kilowatts of power in the event of a utility power failure. Finally, the cooling systems are arranged in an N+1 set up. Digital Realty’s redundant set ups allow them to provide clients with a 100% up-time service level agreements.
