DC74 Data Centers’ Charlotte (CLT-4) data center is located at 3100 International Airport Dr., Charlotte, NC 28208, and is one of the four data center facilities that are located within walking distance of each other. The data center is strategically located 5 miles southwest of downtown, has convenient access to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, is easily accessible from major interstates, and has a very low risk of being compromised by natural disasters. The data center has secure storage areas, a client business center, numerous delivery docks/ramps, and a free car parking facility.
The data center offers flexible colocation options including private cabinet, customized cage space, and private suites. The CLT-4 provides 18,068 square feet of total enclosed space, including 12,000 square feet of data center space. The data center is regularly audited in accordance with SSAE 16 SOC I type II requirements, and is a HIPAA and PCI compliant facility. State of the art security in the data center is maintained through 24x7x365 on site security personnel, video surveillance of interior and exterior areas, proximity card and keypad locks, biometric scanner with PIN, swipe cards, locking cage perimeters, combination locking cabinets, and mantrap entry with motion activated alarm notification. The data center uses a TotalPac double interlock pre action dry pipe fire suppression system, and is also equipped with smoke and heat detectors at and above the ceiling areas.
The DC74 data center (CLT-4) provides a reliable and fault tolerant power infrastructure, and is located on a high priority power grid delivering 1.6 MW of power. The 24 kV power feed from Duke Energy provides power to the facility. The entire critical infrastructure is protected by 2 x 500 kVA UPS systems in 2N redundancy with battery backup that is able to provide 15 minutes of backup power for critical IT load. Emergency power to the data center is fed through a 1,500 kW diesel generator with ample on site fuel storage. The facility provides a power density of 124 watts per square foot with higher power density configurations also available. The data center provides AC and DC power options, and can deliver single feed or A/B feeds to each cabinet. The facility has an overhead cable management and power distribution system. The cooling and humidity in the data center is effectively maintained through redundant Liebert HVAC units.
DC74 Data Centers’ CLT-4 is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity to multiple carriers and service providers. The data center has diverse fiber entrances into the building and has private dark fiber access to other facilities. The data center offers network connection options ranging from 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps connections. The data center provides cross connects and peering relationships with all major carriers. The facility uses BGP4 routing protocols for failover protection, and provides redundant fiber and Ethernet connections. A 24x7x365 NOC technical staff provides support services, monitoring services, and remote hands services.
