The DataSite Marietta data center is located at Powers Ferry Place, Marietta in a freestanding building and an area measuring 7 acres and 15 miles from the heart of downtown Atlanta. The facility is recessed below street level, outside the 500-year floodplain and adjacent to DOD protected air space. The facility is a single story building constructed with concrete walls. The building has a total of 72,500 square feet of covered area with compartmentalized and isolated infrastructure rooms. The data center has a single access point for all visitors with 5 tier authentication for data center access. Mantrap access, keycard readers, controlled access lists, 24×7 security guards, video surveillance, and vehicle blockades with equipment checks to provide a stalwart defense for controlled and authorized entry around the clock.
Power to the DataSite data center is designed with underground utility feeds, with immediate access to high voltage utility sub stations. The N+1 and 2N configured UPS system within the fail-safe facility provides power for up to 45 minutes, double the time of the industry standard, for the smooth functioning and immediate backup by generators in an N+1 design. Generators can run for 72 hours before needing to refuel. A massive N+1 chiller plant equipped to deliver redundant cool air and chilled water for optimum performance and protection. The dual interlocking, dry pipe pre action fire suppression system is capable of extinguishing fire above and below the raised floor.
The data center facility is SSAE 16 type II certified and has raised flooring to provide a safe and reliable infrastructure with multiple power and fiber feeds. DataSite offers colocation cabinets, cages built to exact customer specifications, and custom data center suites that meet customer’s demands. DataSite provides network neutral access to major telecommunications carriers and Internet backbones that allow data center clients to select vendors, networks and protocols without proprietary or other carrier-specific constraints. The data center utilizes the use of cold side and hot side configurations, with daily tape rotation services for recording backup of all the services and data. DataSite has a configured a metered power facility to track and charge clients based on actual power usage. The remote hands facility is provided and strictly followed as per client’s instructions, and a dedicated staff is available for providing Level 1 and Level 2 support.
