DataBank’s Houston data center (Galleria) is located at 4201 Southwest Freeway Houston, TX 77027. The Houston data center is centrally located, and is surrounded by access to dozens of hotels, several restaurants, and other amenities. DataBank’s Houston data center is conveniently located near three major business districts including Galleria, Greenway Plaza, and Downtown. The DataBank data center has a reinforced physical structure including concrete bollards, revolving doors, steel-lined walls, and bulletproof glass.
The DataBank Houston colocation services are provided through cabinets, caged space, and private suites. The data center provides 100,000 square feet of space including 64,000 square feet of raised floor. The data center is a SSAE 16 SOC I Type certified, HIPPA and PCI compliant, and USGBC LEED certified. The data center provides state of art security with a perimeter fence, on site security guards, and video surveillance with recording of the interior and exterior of the facility. The access to the data center is restricted through a series of biometric and key card authentication with mantrap.
The data center is built to top-tier standards offering 100% SLA on power. Multiple levels of power redundancy are available in N, 2N, and N+1 configurations. The site sits on the same redundant power ring as the Emergency Broadcasting Network, and has survived, without incident, every major storm to hit Houston including Allison, Rita, and Ike. The facility has dual input PDUs with static transfer switches, and provides dedicated diesel generator for emergency power with a 3,300 gallon belly tank. The data center power cables are High Performance Computing (HPC) capable, supporting 250 Watts per square foot, and capable of supporting 1000 Watts per square foot.
The 24 and 36 inches of raised floor design provide the cooling and temperature control in the data center through a combination of cooling technologies including DX and closed loop chilled water using multiple 500 ton Trane chillers configured with N+1 redundancy. The dual action interlocking dry pipe fire suppression with VESDA control is installed in the data center for safety. The data center is a carrier neutral facility, and part of DataBank P (Internet Exchange). With over 10 carriers available in the building, customers have several choices for their connectivity requirements. The data center has 24×7 support staff available in Network Operation Centers (NOC) with a remote hands facility available.
