ColoServe’s San Francisco data center is located at 360 Spear St., Suite 100, San Francisco, CA 94105. The data center is located in San Francisco Telecom Center, and is conveniently situated just south of San Francisco financial district. The building was originally constructed in 1924 as Marine Corps Depot for storage of military tanks and heavy equipment being built with extra thick, reinforced cast in place concrete. The building was seismically retrofitted in 1999 to meet the rigorous building codes. ColoServe’s data center was built by WorldCom in 2000, and was reopened in 2003.
The data center offers flexible colocation options including single server in shared environment, quarter locking cabinet, half and full locking cabinet, and customized cage space. The data center provides 20,000 square feet of total space that includes raised floor space for subfloor cable management and efficient airflow. The data center provides secure loading docks, and secure shipping and receiving area. The facility provides excellent security measures featuring 24x7x365 onsite security guards at front entrance, audio and video surveillance system, registration with security office and submission of valid ID, escorted entry for people not on access list, and even a secondary check-in at second floor. The data center is equipped with three levels of fire detection and suppression system including Halon fire extinguishers, TotalPac double interlock pre action dry pipe fire suppression system, and 400 VESDA laser smoke sensors, with 200 located below the raised floor and 200 located on the ceiling.
The data center provides a reliable power infrastructure and offers 100% SLA on power with power to data center is fed by redundant power feeds. The entire critical infrastructure is protected by UPS system with battery backup on the loss of utility power. The emergency power to the facility is served by 2 x 2 MW diesel generators in N+1 redundancy with 20,000 gallons of fuel storage tank onsite and hot refill options. The diesel generators are tested monthly as per stringent MCI protocols. The facility provides power circuit in 20/30 Amp 110V and 20/30/50 Amp 208V configurations. The cooling and humidity level in the data center is automated through the use of dual redundant chilled water supply loops and multiple Liebert air conditioning units in N+1 redundancy. This cooling system has a capacity of 300 tons of cooling.
ColoServe’s 360 Spear St. data center is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity to over 40 networks. The data center has six separate building fiber entrances with two fiber rooms, that also has fiber entrances on different streets. The facility provides 100 Mbps Internet connection, private VLAN, and HSRP protection on newest Cisco switching gear to ColoServe Screaming Fast Network. 24x7x365 NOC is staffed by highly skilled professionals with real time monitoring of critical systems and technical support. The data center also provides complimentary remote hands services.
