Cogent’s New York data center is located at 33 Whitehall St. This facility provides anti static raised floor and network and power cabling are installed in the raised floor in pre installed runs for easy management. The data center has video camera surveillance with motion detection and capturing. Access to the data center resources are granted through magnetic card readers. The IT infrastructure and communication equipment is connected to the AC and DC power supply via junction boxes situated under the raised floor. Power failure is protected by the UPS system which is able to provide back up supply up to 4 hours. Air conditioning and humidity control is provided via the raised flooring with a leakage monitoring system that monitors water-bearing pipes and the air-conditioning systems. Fire alarm systems are equipped with early warning integration, hand-held CO2 fire extinguishers, and automatic fire extinguishing equipment including a Gas Suppression system that is installed in the data center.
