Cobalt’s Sahara data center is located at East Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, NV. The data center is located in an area of 2.4 Acres and has an extremely low instance of natural catastrophes and is considered a safe-zone from natural disasters. The area faces neither the earthquake risks associated with coastal California nor the winter storm problems that afflict the Mountain West and the northern US. The data center is well suited to provide disaster recovery and business continuity services.
Cobalt’s Sahara data center is a Tier III facility infrastructure. The data center is a 60,000 square feet facility and is SSAE 16 SOC I Type II certified with HIPPA, PCI DSS, and IRS 1075 compliant. The security of data center is maintained through 24 x 7 x 365 presence of security guards, bullet proof glass and surfaces, and CCTV surveillance. The access to data center resources is multi factor authentication system including biometric security scanners, retina and fingerprint access system, and multiple mantraps. The facility is installed with double interlock, pre action dry pipe fire suppression with VESDA control for the life and equipment safety.
The Cobalt Sahara data center is the first multi-tenant data center in Nevada, and one of the most environmentally friendly, technology advance, energy efficient data centers that has received the LEED Silver certification. The data center has dedicated 10 MVA utility circuit, and lighting protection. 4 x 2500 kVA, 480 Volt electrical service, DC power plant, 120V/ 208 V single and three phase power, 200 watts per square feet of power density, and circuit level load monitoring are the key power features. The power failure is protected by tri redundant UPS system with N+1 configured backup power provided by 5 x 2.5 MW diesel generators. 2N configured centralized chilled water plant utilizing both water and air for cooling, and redundant CRAC units in N+ 2 configurations are utilized to automate the temperature of the data center.
Sahara data center is a carrier neutral facility. The facility is designed to be network access point (NAP) for the region with presence of more than 20 carriers. The data center is located in rich fiber district of US, and serviced by such a significant amount of long haul carrier fiber. The facility has four fiber entrances, two meetme rooms, and loop network. Sahara data center has 24 x 7 x 365 NOC for the technical assistance, information security consulting, and also offer remote hands services as and when required.
