InfoBunker’s Des Moines data center is located at 3101 Ingersoll Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312. The data center is a military grade secure facility that is hardener and fully underground infrastructure. The facility is three feet thick reinforced concrete, all subterranean construction designed to survive a 20 Megaton nuclear blast from 2.5 miles. InfoBunker offers colocation services, disaster recovery, and hosting services. InfoBunker serves the clients from a large Midwest teaching hospital, to insurance company headquarters, telecommunications providers, e-commerce sites and Government agencies.
InfoBunker offers comprehensive colocation space through rack space in 1U increments, half and full cabinets, private suites, and vaults. The data center provides 65,000 square feet of total space including 38,000 square feet of data center space. The facility provides 24 inches grounded and bonded aluminum raised floor with structural capacity of 3,500 lbs. per square feet. The data center is a SAS 70 Type II certified, PCI and HIPAA compliant facility. The data center has implemented stringent security measures, including surveillance cameras monitoring all critical areas with archiving, security personnel, multistage ID check and screening procedures, and access logs. Everyone entering the data center has to pass through a separate surface building and then through dual 4.5 tons steel mantrap security doors with a key card, biometric verified, and cypher keypad. All personnel must use a key card, biometric verifier, and cypher keypad again to gain access through doors within data center. The facility uses multi zone FM 200 fire suppression system, and also has backup underground 17,000 gallons water based fire suppression. The facility is also equipped with dedicated smoke detectors units for early sensing for fire.
Des Moines data center is a reliable and fault tolerant 2N concurrently maintainable power infrastructure. The data center is an energy efficient design with 27.5% of power from renewable energy sources and provides a PUE of 1.28. A total of 10 MW of utility power is fed to the data center by local power company through dedicated substation that is ring fed via two other substations. The UPS units in N+1, 2N or 2N+1 redundant configurations provides the backup power on the immediate loss of utility. The emergency power to data center is provided by 3 x 750 kVA turbine diesel engines that are capable to operate in N+2 or 2N+1 modes depending upon the needs. The data center has 10,000 gallons fuel storage tank buried bunker 25 feet underground. The data center provides A+B power circuits to supply physical diverse power. The cooling and humidity in the data center is maintained through 3 x DX units, 3 x economizers, and 2 x dry coolers in N+2 redundant configurations.
InfoBunker’s 3101 Ingersoll Ave data center is a carrier neutral facility with connectivity to multiple Tier I carriers and service providers. The connectivity comes via a total of 192 strands of fiber that enter the data center from four compass points as well as an independent, separate fiber route that is fully owned and managed by InfoBunker. The data center provides 100% network uptime SLA. InfoBunker’s private fiber provides a backhaul to the Des Moines telecom hotel for private client traffic.
