Host Color – South Bend Data Center

Host Color’s core infrastructure is hosted in an IT facility based out of South Bend, IN (90 miles from Chicago). It is strategically located in the Midwestern United States to ensure lowest possible latency to any point in North America.

High-Class Data Center: Host Color wants you to know that your servers are hosted in a high-class, Tier II data center building owned by a partner of Host Color. They operate their own IT infrastructure, and an Autonomy System (ASN 46873 in the American Registry of Internet Numbers) and a fully redundant network with a 100% SLA guarantee in the data center. Host Color operates fully redundant and concurrently maintainable IT infrastructure (including all capacity components) which theoretically guarantees 99.982% availability. The operational continuity of our network (network uptime) based on a 365 day monitoring period is 100%. They use multiple, independent distribution paths to the IT infrastructure. All of their equipment – Juniper MX routers, EX switches, Colocation, Dedicated and Cloud servers are dual-powered. Host Color uses two separate monitoring systems which work concurrently to provide them and their customers with statistics on uptime of all devices, services and resource usage. The whole power system is designed and conditioned to run seamlessly through uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. There is an active engine that monitors and tests the power usage to ensure highest possible reliability. An onsite Diesel backup generator is on standby in case of power systems failure.

Racks and Cabinets: Host Color’s servers are mounted in 19′ rack cabinets, placed in single rows forming corridors between them. The maximum power density per cabinet is 40 Amps at 120 volt.

Environment Control: The data center is air-conditioned by N+1 units capable of sustained usage during generator use. Air flow quality is monitored and cleaned through air handlers. Temperature and humidity is controlled at 70 degrees F (21 degrees Celsius) at 50% humidity.

Security: The facility is monitored 24/7/365 through motion sensing surveillance and access controlled through keycard.
