Cogent Communications – Troy Data Center

Cogent’s Troy data center is located at 3331 W Big Beaver Rd. The facility provides anti static raised flooring for colocation to supply fresh air to cabinets and infrastructure. Network and power cabling is installed and grounded in the raised flooring in pre-installed runs for easy management. The Troy Michigan colocation facility includes 10 Mbps colo, 100 Mbps colo, 1000 Mbps colo, 10000 Mbps colo, and Cogent utility computing. The Cogent data center has video camera surveillance with motion detection and capturing. Access to the data center resources are controlled through magnetic card readers. The IT infrastructure and communication equipment is connected to the AC and DC power supply via junction boxes situated under the raised floor. Power failure is protected by the UPS system which are able to provide the backup supply up to 4 hours with only a 15 second delay to transfer all the building load to an auto started diesel generator upon power failure. Air conditioning and humidity control is provided via the raised flooring which contains a leakage monitoring system that monitors water-bearing pipes and the air-conditioning systems. Fire alarm systems with early warning integration, fire walls, hand-held fire extinguishers with a CO2 filling according fire, and automatic fire extinguishing equipment  including Gas Suppression system is installed in the data center.

The Internet access is dedicated, non oversubscribed and backed by one of best SLA’s available. Cogent provides On-Net internet access to more than 1,920 buildings directly connected to company’s IP backbone where fiber optics physically runs through the buildings. Cogent provide off-Net internet access to more than 180 markets. Off-Net traffic runs over Cogent network, but a Telco tail circuits connect the customer’s to Cogent IP backbone. IP’s Transit services are powered by the interconnected network and offers high quality, scalability, and affordable bandwidth. The IP Transit service runs over Cogent worldwide tier I, IPv6 enabled, optical IP network with over 57,000 route miles (91,700 km) of long-haul fiber and more than 27,100 miles (43.600 km) of metropolitan fiber. Cogent’s Autonomous System AS174 has direct connectivity to more than 4,660 AS networks around the world and over 33,400 Gbps internetworking capacity. Ethernet point to point solutions allow you to build private connections between any two points of network with MPLS enabled IP backbone. Customer Support Engineers are available 24x7x365 and answer calls in less than 25 seconds. Local support and online account management provide individual assistance and any time access, regardless of time zone.
